The SOUND Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams are specially equipped two-person units, traveling in vans, staffed by behavioral health professionals and certified peer counselors. They are designed to de-escalate mental health and substance use crises, provide immediate support, and connect individuals to long-term care.
Watch videoSOUND offers a comprehensive, evidence-based outpatient substance-use treatment grounded in nationally-recognized treatment principles. Our program coordinates mental-health support, medication, and primary care to provide a whole-person approach. We are here to support you in building recovery, resilience, stability, and personal growth for long-term wellness. If a higher level of care, such as inpatient treatment, is recommended, we can help connect you with services and provide ongoing support once you complete the program. The main difference between outpatient and intensive outpatient services is the number of individual and group treatment hours per week.
Who These Services are For
Our outpatient program is available to adults and young people who are experiencing substance-use challenges and want support to improve their health, live self-directed lives, and reach their full potential. We are 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly and deeply committed to diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion. Our services are available throughout King County, serving the Central, North, and South regions.
How We Support You
We recognize that each person’s relationship with substances is unique. For many, gradually reducing use in a way that feels safe and manageable may be a more realistic first step than immediate abstinence. We meet you where you are and partner with you to set goals that reflect your needs, preferences, and readiness.
Your recovery plan is tailored to you and may include:
• A comprehensive assessment using ASAM criteria.
• Medication support, including medications for alcohol use or opioid use.
• Referrals for withdrawal management.
• Tobacco-cessation support and referrals.
• Integrated treatment for co-occurring mental-health and substance-use needs.
• Specialized support for individuals who are justice-involved, including required documentation.
• Referrals for inpatient treatment, mental-health services, or case management as needed.
• Vocational support through our employment program.
Goals
Our services are recovery-oriented and focus on helping you and your family build stability, resilience, personal growth, and skills needed for long-term self-direction. We provide care with empathy and respect, working to ensure you feel safe, seen, heard, validated, and empowered as you move toward your recovery goals.
Locations
Most outpatient services, including assessments and treatment groups, are available via telehealth. Some SOUND locations also offer in-person groups. Justice-involved clients are assessed in person initially and may continue participating in groups through telehealth.
