The Power of Art Therapy:
Short Film Featuring SOUND’s Therapeutic Drama Group Selected for SIFF 2025 Showcase

The Little Prince, a short film about SOUND’s therapeutic drama group for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities was selected to premier at the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival as part of the shorts package, Sound Visions! We are honored this intimate short about expression, trust and the transformation that happens when creativity meets care has been recognized by SIFF.

We are there when our community needs us, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

After hours services may include:

  • Emergency assessment
  • Phone consultation
  • Outreach
  • Emergency medication management
  • Crisis case management
  • Assistance with accessing higher levels of care

SOUND clinicians are trained to consider emergency departments and inpatient hospitalization only as a last resort when personal or community safety and/or grave disability are imminent.  Many who seek our services are impoverished and come to us in psychiatric crisis, in part triggered by the perils of homelessness, malnourishment, victimization and violence, isolation, job loss, medication mismanagement, racism, and interpersonal conflict.

Our crisis clinicians assess the situation and assist with crisis intervention skills which may include:

  • Connection with community resources
  • Social services
  • Shelters
  • Medical providers
  • Designated crisis responders
  • Culturally specific resources
