The Little Prince, a short film about SOUND’s therapeutic drama group for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities was selected to premiere at the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival as part of the shorts package, Sound Visions! We are honored this intimate short about expression, trust and the transformation that happens when creativity meets care has been recognized by SIFF.
At SOUND, we’re here for children, youth, and young adults who have emotional, behavioral, or substance-use treatment needs. We provide care that is compassionate, personalized, and rooted in safety, trust, and respect for each young person’s unique needs and experiences. We help each child grow at their own pace and in ways that honor their strengths, culture, and lived experience.
We also support parents and caregivers, recognizing that strong families help children thrive. Our clinicians focus on building strengths, skills, and resilience for healthy growth, always honoring each person’s voice, story, and goals.
We recognize that healing happens in relationships, and for children and adolescents, families are often a vital part of that process. We believe kids grow and recover best when their families are supported, informed, and engaged in care. At the same time, we honor that young people ages 13 and older have the legal right in Washington State to independently seek and consent to their own behavioral-health treatment. Our team is committed to partnering with youth and families in ways that respect both autonomy and connection, ensuring every young person receives support that feels safe, empowering, and aligned with their goals.
Our services include:
• School-based programs
• Individual counseling
• Addiction and substance-use support
WISe - WISe is a specialized, team based, intensive mental-health program that partners with youth up to age 21 who are navigating complex or high-risk behavioral-health needs. The program recognizes that healing happens in the context of safety, trust, and supportive relationships, and is designed for young people who may not have found traditional outpatient services sufficient in meeting their needs.
We can help with experiences such as:
• Anxiety, worry, or depression
• Trauma-related responses or overwhelming stress
• Attention and focus differences (including ADHD)
• Autistic experiences or neurodivergence
• Obsessive-compulsive experiences (OCD)
• Bipolar-related mood experiences
• Thought or perception experiences
• Emotional, behavioral or oppositional experiences
At SOUND, we care for children and youth within the context of their families and supportive communities. Our goal is to help them feel safe, understood, and empowered as they grow into confident, healthy adults. Services are available in person or through telehealth, so support is accessible whenever it’s needed.
