The Power of Art Therapy:
Short Film Featuring SOUND’s Therapeutic Drama Group Selected for SIFF 2025 Showcase

The Little Prince, a short film about SOUND’s therapeutic drama group for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities was selected to premiere at the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival as part of the shorts package, Sound Visions! We are honored this intimate short about expression, trust and the transformation that happens when creativity meets care has been recognized by SIFF.

SOUND offers residential options designed to promote healing, safety, and stability for individuals with significant behavioral-health needs. Our continuum includes two Mental Health Residential Treatment facilities and one Long Term Care facility, each serving unique purposes within a person’s recovery journey.

Mental Health Residential Treatment Facilities

Our Mental Health Residential Treatment facilities provide structured, therapeutic treatment environments, not intended to be long-term homes. These programs offer focused, goal-oriented support to help residents build skills, strengthen stability, and work toward graduating to a lower level of care. We recognize that individuals often come to us with the impact of trauma and a range of lived experiences, including mental-health symptoms, substance use, or physical health conditions. Our team works to ensure that each person feels safe, welcomed, respected, and in control of their own healing. We focus on collaboration, transparency, and honoring each person’s voice throughout their stay.

Long-Term Care

For individuals who benefit from ongoing, extended support, our Long-Term Care facility provides a more sustained living environment while still centering autonomy, dignity, and whole person care. This setting is designed to support long-term wellness, community connection, and quality of life.

Our Approach Across All Settings

Across all residential programs, we partner closely with each person—as well as their families and natural supports—to create individualized, strengths-based wellness and recovery plans. These plans are grounded in personal preferences, lived experience, culture, and self-identified goals. For individuals navigating both mental health and substance use, our integrated, whole-person approach reduces barriers and supports healing from multiple angles.

Our overarching goal is to ensure that every person feels understood, valued, and empowered, and that they have the skills, support, and confidence needed to lead self-directed, meaningful lives in the community.

Treatment is provided in safe, supportive, and structured environments. We recognize that many people come to us carrying the impact of trauma, serious mental-health, substance-use, or co-occurring physical health needs. Our team works to create spaces where individuals feel welcomed, respected, and in control of their own healing journey.
