Your first visit is called an "intake." Itâs basically a conversation to help us understand who you are and what you need.
When you arrive, youâll talk to the front desk. They will ask for some basic info (like your ID or insurance card if you have one).
Youâll meet with a clinician in a private room. They will ask about your life, whatâs been feeling hard lately, and what your goals are.
This is a partnership. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. You are the expert on your own life.
By the end of the meeting, weâll talk about which of our programs fits you best and when your next appointment will be.
At SOUND, you aren't just assigned one person; you have a whole team looking out for you.
Someone to talk to about your feelings, stress, or trauma in a safe space.
If you need help with sleep, anxiety, or other health issues, these experts can help with medical options.
People who have been through their own challenges and "get it." They are there to support you as an equal.
If you need help with school, housing, or finding a job, these are the people who help you navigate the "system."
Supporting a young person through behavioral health care requires patience and a shift in perspective.
