The SOUND Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams are specially equipped two-person units, traveling in vans, staffed by behavioral health professionals and certified peer counselors. They are designed to de-escalate mental health and substance use crises, provide immediate support, and connect individuals to long-term care.
Watch videoSOUND’s Intensive Residential Treatment (IRT) program offers specialized mental-health care and support in residential settings for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This program is designed to provide stability, structure, and compassionate support for individuals living in community settings such as Adult Family Homes or assisted-living facilities. IRT is an outpatient mental-health service provided through managed-care organizations and focuses on helping individuals feel safe, supported, and successful in their daily lives.
Who These Services are For
IRT is designed for individuals with IDD, including autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, and other developmental conditions, who also experience complex mental-health needs. This program supports people who may be transitioning from state hospitals or long-term hospital stays, or who are having difficulty maintaining stability in community-living settings. If you or your loved one needs intensive, specialized support to live safely and successfully in an Adult Family Home or assisted-living environment, IRT is here to help.
Approach to Care
Our approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in a whole-person understanding of each individual’s emotional, physical, social, and psychological needs. We focus on strengths, dignity, and the unique abilities of every person we serve. Using evidence-based practices, we provide intensive wraparound mental-health services that support stability, growth, and quality of life.
IRT brings together a compassionate, team-based model of care that includes prescribers, registered nurses, mental-health providers, and peer counselors. This team works closely with you and your support system to provide individualized care that may include medication support, therapeutic services, and coordinated mental-health care. Our focus is on recovery, safety, stability, and meaningful connection to the community.
Goals
The goal of IRT is to help individuals stabilize their mental health, strengthen their wellbeing, and successfully live in community settings. Whether transitioning from a hospital or remaining in an Adult Family Home, our program focuses on building skills, confidence, and resilience for long-term stability and independence. We work to support both the individual and their care network so that lasting success feels possible, supported, and sustainable.
Locations
IRT services are provided in community settings such as Adult Family Homes and assisted-living facilities throughout King, Pierce, and South Snohomish Counties. This allows individuals to receive specialized care close to home, with continuity, familiarity, and ongoing support in their local communities.
