Willows

The SOUND Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams are specially equipped two-person units, traveling in vans, staffed by behavioral health professionals and certified peer counselors. They are designed to de-escalate mental health and substance use crises, provide immediate support, and connect individuals to long-term care.

Willows is a supportive housing and clinical-services program created to help mothers in recovery from substance-use challenges build safe, stable lives for themselves and their children. At Willows, you are supported by a dedicated SOUND team who provides daily care, encouragement, and guidance as you focus on healing, stability, and independence. The program serves up to 15 families, with each family including a mother and up to four children, creating a small, caring community where families can grow and heal together.

Who These Services are For

Willows supports pregnant women and mothers of all ages, races, religions, and sexual orientations who are transitioning out of inpatient substance-use treatment and who may also be living with co-occurring mental-health challenges. If you are seeking a safe place to continue your recovery while caring for your children, Willows is here to support you.

Approach to Care

At Willows, we partner with you to understand your needs, strengths, and goals. Together, we build a personalized plan that supports both your recovery and your family’s wellbeing. Services may include:

• Group or individual counseling

• Budget and financial management support

• Vocational and employment counseling

• Case management

• Referrals to community resources

Each family has their own private bedroom, with kitchens, common areas, and bathrooms shared with a small number of other families. On-site staff are available 24 hours a day to provide support, guidance, and care whenever it is needed.

Goals

Willows is designed to keep mothers and children together while supporting long-term recovery and independence. The program helps women strengthen relationships with their children, build parenting skills, pursue education or employment, and create a stable foundation for the future. Women who complete the two-year Willows program are eligible to apply for a King County public housing unit. Willows is recovery-oriented and focused on helping families build stability, resilience, personal growth, and the skills needed for long-term self-direction. Our staff approach every family with empathy and compassion, helping each person feel safe, seen, heard, valued, and empowered.
