The SOUND Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams are specially equipped two-person units, traveling in vans, staffed by behavioral health professionals and certified peer counselors. They are designed to de-escalate mental health and substance use crises, provide immediate support, and connect individuals to long-term care.
Watch videoIf drinking has started to feel difficult to manage, there are many paths toward change — and you don’t have to walk them alone.
If you or someone you care about is working to change a pattern of drinking that has become difficult to manage, SOUND offers Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) as part of a compassionate-care approach. MAT blends medication with counseling and support to help reduce cravings and make it easier to focus on your recovery and long-term wellbeing.
This treatment is available to adults and young people who want help moving toward healthier patterns and a life that feels more self-directed and fulfilling. Whether your immediate goal is to reduce harm or to eventually pursue abstinence, we meet you where you are with respect and care.
What is MAT for AUD?
SOUND’s addiction-management physician and psychiatrists can prescribe medications that compliment therapy. Medications may include:
• Antabuse which induces illness when alcohol is consumed, enforcing sobriety in clients who chose to take it.
• Acamprosate which curbs cravings.
• Naltrexone, an evidence-based treatment which modifies the euphoric effects of alcohol and reduces cravings.
• Vivitrol, another version of naltrexone, which is injected monthly and offers convenience and improved compliance.
Who These Services are For
We serve all adults and youth struggling with Alcohol Use Disorder who seek to improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and reach their full potential.
Approach to Care
At SOUND, we understand that each person’s relationship with alcohol is different. For many, reducing use in a safe and supported way can be a more realistic first step than immediate abstinence. Our focus is on partnering with individuals to make meaningful, achievable progress toward improved health and wellbeing, including the possibility of abstinence when they are ready.
Goals
Our goal is to treat clients with empathy in order to make them feel safe, seen, heard, validated and empowered. Services are recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and focused on helping individuals and families gain stability, personal growth, resilience and tools for long-term self direction.
Locations
MAT is available at our Capitol Hill location, and we use telehealth widely to make services easier to access. All clients—no matter which SOUND location they visit—can receive this treatment.
