DEAR FRIENDS OF SOUND,

This summer has been nothing short of energizing as we’ve had the opportunity to connect with our SOUND community in so many meaningful ways. Across every event and gathering, I’ve been reminded of the power that comes from people uniting behind a shared purpose and the momentum building around supporting access to behavioral health care for all.

Whether our SOUND team was serving meals at FareStart, welcoming guests to ourbooth at the THING festival, or ‘swinging for hope’ at our inaugural golf tournament, one thing was consistent: people were eager to share their stories. I heard from communitymembers whose lives have been touched by mental health, substance use and other needs. Some as individuals, some as caregivers, and some as family or friends walking alongside someone they care about.

These moments of connection underscored what I, and so many of you in our community, already know to be true: behavioral health care affects every one of us, directly or indirectly, and the need for accessible, quality care has never been greater. They also reinforced why we are here – to keep the Orange Door open, increase access, and breakdown the stigma that too often keeps people from seeking the help they need.

My goal, and SOUND’s goal, is to ensure that when someone reaches out for help, they are met with compassion, understanding, and the right care at the right time. This work is only possible because of our community. Your advocacy, your partnership, and your belief in our mission make all the difference. We are here for all of you.

Most sincerely,

Katrina Egner
SOUND President & CEO
