Today is the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s stunning murder at the knee of Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, which set off renewed civil rights awareness and continuous protests across the country. We take this day to acknowledge the life of Mr. Floyd, the life of Breonna Taylor, the life of Ahmaud Arbery, and the lives of countless other African Americans who tragically lost their lives in 2020. Sound will honor these human beings by continuing our quest to create an inclusive, equitable, and just system for the people we serve and for the people who work here. We have a long way to go, but we are deeply committed.
