Each year, Sound comes together during IMAGINE with over 350+ members of our community to raise funds and awareness around mental health, addiction and emotional wellbeing. This year Sound will raise funds for our very special Middle School Support Project (MSSP). This year the event, taking place in October, is all virtual, as it was last year.
This vital, school-based program was the very first of its kind in the region and now serves as the model for other such programs. MSSP embeds behavioral health care coordinators into the most diverse, lowest-performing and socio-economically disadvantaged middle schools in the Seattle Public School District. These care coordinators work directly with children and families to help them overcome barriers and successfully address mental health issues and they also develop impactful relationships with educators, providing greater understanding about behavioral health in the schools. Sound has therapists supporting more than 200 schools and MSSP typically serves more than 600 students and families annually.
This year’s event will feature inspiring speakers, a LIVE jazz quartet, a LIVE auction, a moving video featuring MSSP and so much more. Watch for more IMAGINE details in the coming months. We look forward to having you join us this October. More details on time and date will be announced soon!
