Tell us something about yourself that we’d be surprised to learn.
I was blind when I came to the USA. But then I had a corneal transplant in BOTH EYES! The first morning after my surgery, the doctor came to conduct his round and when he took the patch off my eye, the first thing I saw was a white person with big blue eyes! I fainted! That was the first time for me to see such. When I came out of the hospital and saw the wonders of New York city full of skyscrapers – among many things, I kept watching so much that I ended up standing in the middle of the street with cars honking at me!  I was mesmerized because the world is so beautiful. I instantly knew that Allah gave me my eyesight for a reason. That’s why I decided to work with folks who are dealing with challenges in life.
