To our community: the tragic events that have been unfolding before us, both this past week and in the weeks and years before, reinforce Sound’s commitment to denounce all forms of bigotry and injustice. The incredibly tragic and unnecessary murders of black citizens such as George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Stephon Clark, Terence Crutcher, Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Eric Garner, Laquan McDonald and too many others to count, deeply affect us, our clients and team members.
While we are here during these times of crisis for our community, we also are reaching out to our team members. It is they who are on the front lines — and their committed work with our clients may expose them to these horrendous and troubling acts of violence against black people over and over again, creating their own traumas. Our Crisis and other teams are here to both support our clients and our dedicated team members as we work through the troubling events of the past few weeks. Together, we all will emerge from these events stronger in standing together against all forms of injustice and bigotry.
