Team Member Spotlight: Christina Halaszyn

Christina Halaszyn

Veterans Services

Program Manager

Introduce yourself!

I’m Christina and I’m a Program Manager here at Sound for Supportive Services for Veteran Families.

Tell us something about yourself that we’d be surprised to learn.

I have lived in 3 states in the last ten years – Ohio, Minnesota, and Washington.

I also care about people – helping them, learning about them, making friends, working together as a team is one of my favorite things.

Do you have any hobbies that you’d like to tell us about?

I enjoy needle craft – mostly knitting, embroidery, and sewing – and spending time in nature, exploring places I haven’t been to before. I also enjoy spending time with my cats Bergamot, sweet and lazy, and Tarragon, mischievous adventurer.

Who do you admire most at Sound?

David Young and David Wu were instrumental in getting SSVF’s large load of weekly financial assistance up and running after we joined Sound. They helped to make sure that the interruptions in service were as minimal as possible, and their continued hard work has been greatly appreciated. I also have to give a shout out to my team. Through the ups and downs of a great deal of transition, they have been patient, gracious, and have remained strong advocates for the needs of the veterans we serve.

What is your favorite thing about working at Sound?

I was pleased to learn that Sound values continuing education by providing team members the opportunity to receive supervision toward licensure, as well as trainings in other areas that will further bolster expertise in their work.
