Sound Participates “Big Time” in Pride Activities

This year, culminating on June 24, Sound participated proudly in Seattle’s Pride events, demonstrating its support of the LGBTQ community. The most visible activities consisted of participation in PrideFest, a weekend-long celebration, as well as walking in the Seattle Pride Parade, the largest parade of its kind in the country.

Sound was also a sponsor of the Puget Sound Business Journal’s “The Business of Pride” event on June 8, which recognizes the top LGBTQ businesses in the region. In all, it has been the highest profile Sound has had during Pride month in a number of years.

“It was exciting to be part of these events,” said Sound President & CEO Patrick Evans, who also marched in the parade with dozens of other Sound team members. “It was a great opportunity for us to connect with one of the communities we serve and raise our visibility in the community.”

Next year, Sound has plans for an even larger showing during Pride Month, and is currently formulating an event committee to enhance its presence. Stay tuned to future issues of SoundWaves for more details.
