Sound Renames Long Time Newsletter

Mental Health Matters, Sound’s external newsletter for more than 10 years, has changed its name to SoundWaves. As the organization continues to evolve, so too did the newsletter’s name, which no longer aligned with the organization’s new brand.

The quarterly publication, which reaches a broad audience of the philanthropic community, elected officials, clients, staff, the general public, county employees, and Sound’s health systems partners, will not only feature a new masthead but a renewed focus on content that matters to its readers.

A small committee, headed up by Sound’s Marketing & Public Relations Department, brainstormed ideas and a number of new name options were presented to Sound’s executive leadership, which unanimously selected SoundWaves. The name reflects the idea that Sound’s services, and the impact of their reach, extend well beyond mental health, rippling across the community it serves.

SoundWaves’ goals include communicating the changes that are occuring in our industry and in primary care and continuing to educate its diverse audiences about the clients we serve, our team members, and the work we do. Through SoundWaves Sound can share these stories in a way that goes beyond statistics to communicate the processes and outcomes within a deeper context.

The newsletter will strive to chronicle the ongoing evolution of the behavioral health industry and continue to communicate Sound’s values and vision of providing effective and innovative whole health care for the people and community we serve.
